ABOUT:

Jen Humphreys is a woodworker based in the North East of Scotland.

Her practice blends traditional techniques with a bold, contemporary aesthetic.

Originally studying Graphic Design at Gray’s School of Art, Jen went on to train in traditional furniture restoration with the Association of Master Upholsterers. This design background and hands-on experience led to the role as Design Assistant at a high-end furniture studio in London.

Returning home to Scotland, Jen qualified as a teacher of Craft and Design and now teaches woodwork, alongside pursuing her own creative practice. In 2023, she set up a dedicated workshop within the grounds of Banff Castle, Aberdeenshire from which all her work is produced.
